We always recommend scheduling an appointment as appointments receive priority, however, we always gladly accept walk-ins, especially for those unexpected emergencies that come up.
We accept all major credit cards, Care Credit, Apple Pay, and cash payments.
Yes, we do accept pet insurance. Pet insurance works differently than human health insurance in that you pay for the visit up front and then the company reimburses you. We are always happy to fill out any forms that are needed for your insurance.
Payment is required at the time services are rendered. We recommend Care Credit that offers special financing options if needed. This can be used in your own health care as well.
We treat dogs and cats.
For larger dogs, we recommend them being spayed or neutered at 8 months or older to allow them to grow to help potentially prevent orthopedic issues in the future. For smaller dogs and cats, we recommend them being spayed or neutered at 6 months of age.
We require pre-anesthetic blood screening for all anesthetic procedures. This checks your pet’s total organ function, including liver and kidney values, to ensure that your pet is healthy to undergo anesthesia. We also run clotting times to ensure that there are no issues with bleeding.
For most surgical procedures, sutures are placed under the skin and dissolve over time. For those surgical procedures where the sutures cannot be placed in this manner, sutures generally stay in for 10-14 days.
We offer boarding services on weekdays and pets must be picked on Saturdays before we close at noon. We do not provide any weekend boarding to allow our staff time to rest.
We have separate boarding facilities for dogs and cats. There are small and medium-sized kennels as well as large runs available for dogs. Cats have a separate quiet area of kitty condos that allow them the ability to climb. They also interconnect in case you have multiple cats from the same household that you want to house together. We have images of our facilities on our boarding page.
Because pets age much faster than we do, it is highly recommended that they come in for a yearly comprehensive exam as this may be the only time we see them during the year. Any issues or health conditions that are found on the exam can be discussed and either prevented, managed, or treated. In addition, a yearly exam is required to maintain a client/patient/doctor relationship to continue dispensing prescription medications.
Heartworm and flea prevention should be administered year-round, especially in Houston, as it never gets cold enough here for a long period of time to kill off mosquitoes and fleas, so keeping them on prevention regularly helps to protect them. It is always easier and cheaper to prevent diseases from occurring than to treat them. It is not enough protection for pets to be “indoor only,” as mosquitoes and fleas can get into homes just like any other insect. For example, one flea that bites a pet that is not on regular flea prevention lays up to 50 eggs per day in the environment, so an infestation can happen very quickly.
In addition, in the Spring and Woodlands areas where there are a lot of wooded areas, we also highly recommend yearly tick prevention.
We usually recommend transitioning puppies and kittens to adult food around 8 months of age.
If your dog is otherwise healthy and does not have any allergies or skin conditions, they can be bathed once a week or every couple of weeks.

Every dog and cat is different and their nails will grow at different rates depending on their activity and their environment. The average is usually once monthly. Longer nails will usually create a clicking sound on the floor. Dogs that are exposed to concrete surfaces may need fewer nail trims than dogs and cats that are indoor only and less active.
Mobile veterinary care is usually not as comprehensive as they are limited in the amount of medications and equipment that they have on hand.
