WHAT OUR VETERINARY CLINIC CAN DO

Whenever you have a pet emergency or concern, bring your furry friend to A Couple of Vets so we can diagnose and provide them with the right treatment. Our services include:

Soft Tissue Surgery – Since so many pets eat things they shouldn’t, soft tissue surgery to remove foreign objects is one of the most common procedures that we provide. Soft tissue surgeries relate to work on muscle, skin, and the organs, and can range from tumor removal to bladder stone removal. We are fully equipped to provide pet surgery as needed. For more complicated procedures, we can provide referral to a specialist.

Minor Orthopedic Procedures – Hip or elbow dysplasia, ligament ruptures, joint or tendon issues, and slipped kneecaps are some of the most common conditions that may require a minor orthopedic procedure. We are fully equipped to provide medical management for these issues, including multimodal pain management, laser therapy, and custom braces. We are also able to perform amputations if deemed necessary. For more complicated procedures, we will provide referral to an orthopedic surgeon.

Multimodal Pain Management – As pets age, they tend to experience chronic pain. Unlike short term pain, which can potentially be treated with just one type of medication or treatment, chronic pain requires more complex treatment: multimodal pain treatment. This type of treatment often includes a combination of medications and treatments, including non-steroidal anti-inflammatories, nerve pain medication, opioids, joint and/or muscle supplements, and laser therapy, to combat pain at its source. Joint pain, arthritis, and similar conditions in pets may require this approach.

Passive Range of Motion – After common injuries, passive range of motion exercises may be needed to prevent loss of muscle during recovery periods. We can help your pet relax and stretch them in specific motions to help them recover after their injury and teach you how to perform these exercises at home.
